meeting baby girl, Eden.

My husband is getting a haircut, and I am sitting at a coffee shoppe with my ultimate unwinding treat... a cappucino in a "for here" mug - something magical about it, try it.  He took a few hours off work this afternoon, and my heart delights in the fact that we get to have more time together today then we were expecting!  I can never seem to get my fill of spending time with him, and I can't stand going a few days without having quality "us" time, which is rare, but I am a bear if I don't get it.  I just don't feel healthy or something!  Marriage is seriously incredible like that...

This week I started my online class for Biology 101.  Week one has actually gone much smoother than I was expecting - I guess because the ominous biology course has been dreaded and avoided by myself for, well, years now because of it's loving reputation for intensity and impossibility of feeling like a successful college student throughout the entire course.  So I decided it was time to knock it out, especially before my Little Man arrives and my hands are full in a different way.  I have been taking two classes per 8 weeks since shortly after Chris and I got married, but having a baby in my body and all the unexpected hic-cups and interruptions that come with being pregnant and working on my feet part-time plus not doing school or work on the Sabbath, I decided to cut back to one course instead of two this current 8 week "semester".  So far it's been so delightful to not have to be thinking about school at every break and every spare minute that I have.  I realized today that these "Sabbath dates" with the Lord that I can now have, and the baby books that I can read before Baby Boy Bean arrives will be cherished times before I embark on being a momma full-time in just about three months...

I haven't gotten the pictures up yet, but we had the pleasure of meeting my very dearest friend, Sarah's baby girl, Eden Renee, for the very first time.

mini trip to the past:
her wedding, 8.1.09

here she as my moh, and five lovely months pregnant
this past summer

at three months old she is so sweet,
i could eat her up!!
[look at those cheeks!!]
when i was holding her, baby boy in my belly kicked her a bit.
that might explain her expression here...
i promise, they will be friends.

he couldn't get enough of her either!
she was so cute talking to him while we got our pampering done...
she fell asleep while he was holding her, and he started dozing off, too.
WISHED i had a camera...

my hubby is awesome, and always just knows it seems like...
he treated this new mommy and this mommy-to-be to mani's and pedi's while he watched Eden!
*sigh* so wonderful to catch up with this dear friend face to face.
way better than even Skype.

who would have known where life would take the two of us over the past few years.
and sooo grateful to be traveling it together.

off to my date with my darling husband...
ps-the haircut looks GREAT.  <3

springtime.

songs 2.11-13 {msg}

The Man
 10-14 Get up, my dear friend,
   fair and beautiful lover—come to me!
Look around you: Winter is over;
   the winter rains are over, gone!
Spring flowers are in blossom all over.
   The whole world's a choir—and singing!
Spring warblers are filling the forest
   with sweet arpeggios.
Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed,
   and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.
Oh, get up, dear friend,
   my fair and beautiful lover—come to me!
Come, my shy and modest dove—
   leave your seclusion, come out in the open.
Let me see your face,
   let me hear your voice.
For your voice is soothing
   and your face is ravishing.

an ode to the winter that is ending,
and the spring that is just around the corner -

hockey game.

last night right after i got off work, and i went right over to my husband's hockey game.
he used to play when he was little all through college.
now he's in a men's league - i'm so glad whenever he gets to play.
it's such a passion of his, and he comes alive when he thinks about playing, gets to play, or even talks about playing.

he's the one with the yellow helmet

our little man (23 weeks) has gone CRAZY twice already when i've watched hockey, once last weekend when chris was picking out a new hockey stick and i was watching a jr's league, and then last night.

i barely can feel him sometimes, but as soon as i walked into the rink and started watching his daddy, he was kicking on the side, and then low and grooving around like crazy.

i don't think he can wait to get out of the womb and get on the ice.
i'm gonna have to get him something like this for his crib to welcome him into this wonderful world of skating and hockey:
